Color Word Recognition

Objectives:
• Academic:
a) Students will read the nine basic color words (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, brown, black, white)
• Technological:
• a) Students will be able to access a previously bookmarked website
Pre-Requisite Technology Skills:
• Turning a computer on and shutting it down
• Using a mouse
Materials:
• Computer with aver key for teacher demonstration
• Computers for students to use which are already bookmarked with
the following web site: http://www.funsehoo1.con1/c~i-binIga’?a2k

Procedures:
1) Students will turn on their computers, and the teacher will model on the computer with the aver key
2) Students will put the arrow on the Netscape icon and double click
3) The teacher will walk the students through locating the bookmark (“Put your arrow on the picture of the book. Click. Move your arrow down to the word that starts with C (color). Click and wait.”) The teacher will demonstrate each step on the computer with the aver key so that students
can bee.
4)The teacher will explain the toolbars to students and demonstrate how to play the game, which requires matching a colorto a color word in order to complete a picture. Students must first click on a color, then move the arrow over to the correct color word and click. If correct, the picture will be filled in with the correct dolor. Continue until the entire picture is complete.
5) Students will play the game.
6)The teacher will demonstrate and walk students through exiting the Netscape program, and students will shut down the computers.
Assessment:
• Look at each student’s screen to determine whether or not they found the bookmark and located the correct website
• Look at each student’s screen to see if they correctly matched the color to the color word
