Objective:
Technology Standard 1
Pre- Requisite Technology Skill:
Access the Internet by clicking on the desktop icon.
The students will be able to use the mouse to make selections.
Students need to be able to type in the URL in order to get to a specific web site.
Students will need to have prior experience with answering math facts.
Students will need to be able to print the selected math sheet and answer it.
Materials:
Computer with Internet access
URL: http://www.mathstories.com/atop1.htm
Math Story printout sheet from the Internet site.
Procedures:
1. Students will work in pairs at a computer.
2. Students need to start the computers and access the Internet site.
3. Students will click on the location box and type in the URL Internet site.
4. Once in Math stories, the students will use their mouse to click on Addition:
Math Story 1.
5. They will then click on print. Once they have their copy, they will read and answer the questions.
6. After they are done with the first activity, they will move on to Subtraction: Math Story 1 and continue with the same procedure.
7. After they are done with addition and subtraction they will move on to Mixed: math Story 1.
8. Once they are done with all three activities. They can move on to the Math Story 2 activities or another skill level.
9. Students will properly shut down the computer.
Assessment:
Students will turn in their activity sheet for evaluation.
Teacher will observe as they are working on their activities.
