Alternative Energy Track Star
Objectives:
Provide independent or group practice completing a track star on the internet.
Create opportunity for student(s) to learn about alternative energy resources.
Pre-requisite Technology Skills:
Students—ability to navigate on the internet.
Teacher—ability to assist students on the internet.
Materials:
Track Star Directions Handout—Alternative Energy Resources.
Computer with internet access.
Students will need notebook paper and something to write with.
Procedures:
Have student or group of students go to computer with notebook, pencil, and Track Star Directions Handout—Alternative Energy Resources. Ask students to follow the directions on the handout and answer the questions asked on the track star. If the teacher has an Averkey, use of a track star could be demonstrated to the whole class before individuals or group begin work.
Ask student(s) to answer the track star questions on their piece of paper and turn it in when they are finished.
Assessment:
Students may be assessed on the track star by their written answers on the handout. They may be assessed on their computer knowledge/work ethic by the amount of time it takes them to complete the track star, and the nature of the questions they ask for assistance on the computer.
