ACADEMIC OBJECTIVE:

To learn about some of the major figures of the American Revolution

To read basic information about some of these people and learn what role they played in the winning America’s freedom from Britain

TECHNOLOGICAL OBJECTIVES:

To enter correct URL address

To select key pieces of information about George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and others

To meet Technology Standard I: Students develop the essential technology skills for using and understanding conventional and current tools, materials, and processes.

To meet Technology Standard 2: Students know how to solve problems by using current technologies to conduct research, analyze solutions and present results.

Prerequisite Technology Skills:

Basic knowledge the students have already learned in school computer classes, i.e. basic functions, use of the mouse, keyboarding, searching URL’s, printing text

MATERIALS:

PC with Windows ’95 or higher,

Printer

ACCOMODATIONS:

Students with special needs will be paired with advanced students.

PROCEDURES:

Students will access the Internet and type in the following URLs. At each site, they will look for information on some of the major figures of the American Revolution. They will also follow the instructions and answer the questions on their handout.
