Objectives:
Academic:
Students will identify and record the descriptions of comets, asteroids, and meteors.
Students will differentiate between comets, asteroids, and meteors by describing their different characteristics.
Technological:
Standard 1
Pre-Requisite Technology Skills
Ability to open Internet and knowledge on how to type in URL’s and use TrackStar.
Materials
PC with Netscape Communicator
handouts
averkey (if available)
Procedures
1. If available, use the averkey to walk the students through the track star and their task, then let them work individually or in groups at their own pace.
2. Access the Internet and type in the URL http://scrtec.org/track/tracks/f04063.html
3. Follow the directions at the top of each site and record your information on the handouts.
Assessment
Observation as the students are working.
Checking the answers through classroom discussion and looking at the answers they have recorded.
