Cardiac Crayfish Track Star

Objectives:

    1. Students will search for information to answer questions on the crayfish’s heart.
    2. Students will learn the four parts of the crayfish heart.
    1. Students will use their mouse skills to move around in the Internet to locate and write down certain information. (Tech. Standard 1).

Pre-Requisite Technology Skills:

Students should be able to know how to use the mouse and how to scroll up and down.

Students should also know the purpose of the back key on the Internet.

Materials:

Computers with Internet access

Procedures:

Students will have a crayfish as their class pet. They will have worked in groups in finding out the characteristics of a crayfish and their habitats. Not only will they learn the different parts of a crayfish, but they will learn about their eating and mating habits. After having learned all of this information they will explore even more and find out about how a crayfish’s heart works.

By using the aver key, have students follow each procedure along with you. They will type in the URL for this Track Star. After having done this show them how to scroll down on each section. Then they may begin the lesson. Good Luck!

Assessment:

The students should have written down answers to the questions and any notes they wanted to share to the class.
