Subject: Crayfish Fun/ Making a word search

Objectives:

Academic: To create a word search using the puzzlemaker site; students will use this after the unit to test their vocabulary retention.

Technological: Continuation of their research and reading skills to effectively use the Internet.

Pre-Requisite Technology Skills:

Students will be able to get to Netscape Communicator via the desktop screen.

Materials:

PC w/Internet access, printer, URL info: puzzlemaker.com

Special Needs:

Procedures:

  1. Students can partner on a computer and log onto the internet via Netscape Communicator.
  2. Type in URL listed above (puzzlemaker.com)
  3. Type in "Crayfish Fun" and enter Vocabulary words listed or add their own.
  4. When the words are entered, click on create word search.
  5. For extra credit they can add a hidden message.
  6. Click on "Print"
  7. Complete word search.

Assessment:

Teacher will assess word search based on time and accuracy.
